Shelley values the personal touch and understanding her clients’ needs and expectations. With her practical approach and insight gained from her extensive experience in corporate commercial and commercial property work, Shelley takes pride in giving a value-add service. She acts for a diverse range of clients, from individuals and small businesses to listed companies. Shelley’s work experience includes mergers and acquisitions, company set-up, company, business, property and transaction structuring and agreements, joint ventures, contract negotiation, drafting and due diligences.
Before establishing Brevity Law in 2013, Shelley was a director at Edward Nathan Sonnenbergs in its Corporate Commercial department.
Shelley is recognised as a leading lawyer by the reputable rating agency Best Lawyers 2014 – Mergers and Acquisitions (South Africa).

During the day, a lawyer, whilst at night, Shelley enjoys the live music experience – not only as a fan of the vibrant live music scene in Cape Town, but also as a bass guitarist in a blues rock band with the Johnny Ray blues band.

Juliette is passionate about using the mechanics of commercial law and drafting to realise her clients’ business objectives. She specialises in implementing corporate, business and property related sales and acquisitions and company setups. She has a special interest in assisting fledgling, dynamic start-ups in structuring their good ideas into commercial reality, assisting both the entrepreneur and investor in venture capital and angel investment transactions.
Before establishing Brevity Law in 2013, Juliette was an associate at ENS (Edward Nathan Sonnenbergs) in the corporate commercial department for 3 years, having completed her articles at Bowman Gilfillan.

Juliette is an avid rugby union fan. From the local derbies of the Currie Cup to the spectacle of the Six Nations further afield, weekend afternoons spent watching the game with a beer in hand is one of Juliette’s favourite past-times. If Juliette was not a lawyer, her idea of a dream career would be as a broadcast journalist for Sky Sports.
